Meet The Governors
I have been involved with Barcroft school since 2010 when my eldest daughter joined. I have two daughters, both of whom are now at Secondary School, but who have achieved well and spent happy years at Barcroft. I support the school through running drama groups and as the SEND link Governor. I am proud to have sat on the Governing Board through our last Ofsted inspection and to be leading the Governors as we work to make improvements ahead of the next inspection.
For the past 15 years, I have worked in several primary schools in different areas with different needs, as a key stage 2 teacher, so I was delighted to take up the role as governor at Barcroft. I am a mother of 2 and my daughters are in Year 5 and Year 2. Through the role (and my own experience), I hope to help the school continue to provide excellence in education and help the school in anyway I can. I am passionate about helping young people achieve their potential through education and ensuring they have the best opportunities to succeed whilst growing into responsible and caring individuals. I look forward to working with the children, staff and families within the school community.
Mr Gursharan Singh Sammi
I am a loving, caring and understanding father of 4 (1 at Barcroft). I have a MB in Information Systems and a BS (Hons) in chemistry and recently qualified in Licensed Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming. For the last ten years I have worked for an international FTSE 200 company in marketing, planning and data analysis. I am a motivated, determined and committed individual who strives ahead. As a Governor, I am confident in sharing ideas regarding the future direction of the whole school and holding others to account. I believe in making a positive impact upon the lives of the pupils of the school, now and for the future.
Mr Isaac Acheampong
I am a proactive father of a daughter at Barcroft. I have also carried out a work placement at Barcroft, supporting Year 5 pupils with their learning. As a qualified teacher in Ghana, I believe the experiences I gained can help contribute to the activities of parent governors at Barcroft primary school. I hope to support the curriculum and standards committee, attend special assemblies, support school trips and support parents in finding a solution to any concerns.
Mrs Sharan Sammi
I am a loving, caring, strong and understanding mother who has one child at Barcroft. I am a motivated, ambitious, determined and committed individual who strives for the best and keeps updated on what's going on in the economic environment, using my experience from 15 years' experience in the corporate world. As an appointed governor, I am confident to share ideas on the direction of the school and strive to have a positive impact on the lives of pupils.
Mrs Fatuma Mwogeza
Being a parent is a duty as well as an honour. I have three children at this school and I would like to have a more active role in their school life, and that of other pupils. Children are our future and our actions contribute tremendously towards their experiences. I hope to bring diversity to the board and air out any ideas relevant to the betterment of our children's learning experiences. Having acquired a bachelors degree in education from overseas, my experiences may be quite different and rather interesting but none the less productive to the school. I am enthusiastic about education and I do believe that knowledge is true power. The kind of power that provides strong roots for our children throughout their lives. However, acquiring that knowledge can be a delicate process, touch and go for some children. I am here to help in any way that I can.
This is my second time as a Governor. For 3 years I was a Council Governor at a secondary school in Staffordshire, which has a joint use agreement between two councils. The experience gained from being both a governor and working in the Public Sector for 38 years provided me with a wealth of experience.
I am a parent of one child at the school and am strongly committed to the education and development within our structure. Supporting in any way I can as the school works towards the results we all desire.
