Spring Term
Mrs Rayit, Miss Walker, Mrs Begum, Miss Price and Mrs Kaur welcome you to Spring term! We hope you enjoyed the half term and enjoyed spending quality time as a family. This next half term is full of interesting and fun activities for the children to take part in.
Our new topic is Land Ahoy for this Spring term.
In Maths , the children have been working really hard to solve multiplication and division. They have used practical resources and written methods to do this. In English we have been looking at poetry, and the children have made their won diamante poem and haiku poems.
This half term we have started a new topic called Land Ahoy. In this topic, we will be exploring about sea sides, coasts and pirates.
In geography we have been labelling different parts of a coastal area such as harbours and lighthouse.
In DT we had fun conducting a ‘sink’ or ‘float’ experiment, exploring which objects would sink or float in water. Later in the term, we will be making a boat out of wood, exploring the materials needed.
In Art this week, the children have been painting the Jolly Roger flag. We were learning that for making a colour darker, we can add black. To make it lighter, we can add white.
