Barcroft Primary School

Unlocking potential today for a brighter tomorrow

Uniform

We require parents of Barcroft Primary to send their children to school in uniform, as this develops a sense of identity with our school.   Our school colours are burgundy, white and grey.

All year groups – including Nursery wear the school colours with pride!

Our uniform is comprised of:

  • White shirt or blouse or white polo t-shirt
  • Burgundy school sweatshirt, jumper or cardigan.
  • Dark grey or black trousers.
  • Dark grey or black skirt / pinafore.
  • Red or Yellow Summer dress
  • Black shoes or polishable trainer looking footwear (no logos)
  • All footwear must be plain black and have no different coloured logos or symbols on them.
  • We ask that all children wear a sun hat at playtime and lunchtime during hot weather.
  • In Key Stage 2 we also ask parents to provide an old shirt for use as an overall during art activities

When purchasing items of clothing to be worn at school, we ask parents to bear in mind the child’s age and ability to dress and undress.  We consider that the uniform is as simple as possible so that parents can buy the best value for money.

Both boys and girls should have appropriate hairstyles. Extreme hair colours or tramlines shaved in are NOT acceptable.

School sweatshirts, cardigans and fleeces are available from Crested, Clive Mark in Walsall and Willenhall Market.

P.E. Kit

The P.E. Kit at Barcroft Primary consists of black shorts and white t-shirt and black pumps for indoor wear and trainers for outdoor wear.

If your child could bring their kit into school on a Monday morning and leave it in school for the week. It can be taken home at the end of the week on Friday and return it back again on Monday morning.

Jewellery is not to be worn in school. The accidental pulling and catching of earrings, rings and necklaces during play can cause severe damage to fingers and earlobes!  Children will be asked to remove earrings during P.E./Games activities if worn to school.  The school cannot accept responsibility for the loss or damage of items of jewellery and watches.

We ask parents to ensure that valuable items are not brought to school.  This includes expensive watches and mobile phones etc.
