Spring Term

This term, the children will be completing our topic 'Memory Box’. In History, the children will learn about some old days and compare teddy bears in the past to the present. During Geography lessons, children will write a list of key features and places found in a city, town and the countryside. The children will also be learning about the weather and describe why certain clothes are worn in certain countries. In Art and Design, the children will draw a self-portrait and compare it to a portrait drawn by the artist, Leonardo Da Vinci. In DT, the children will use a saw to make a moving vehicle out of wood.

In the second half of the Spring term, children will be learning about the topic ‘Moon Zoom!’ During History lessons, the children will explore Neil Armstrong and answer questions about his moon landing. In Geography, the children will learn about the earth and moon’s environments and compare both. They will also use maps and begin to understand map symbols. In Art and Design, the children will learn about the artist, Chesley Bonestell, and create a replica of his work. In Design and technology, the children will plan and make their own smoothie. After tasting the smoothie, the children will evaluate it.
