Children discover facts about the burning of parliament and how parliament is organised today and the role it plays in running the country. Our Geography focus is on the British Empire, children explore what this looked like at its strongest and the modern equivalent today. Children will also explore key terms such as import and export. In art, children learn about the work of artists Andy Warhol and Terence Sinclair and try to mimic some of their artwork as well as exploring how to produce a portrait. During DT lessons, children explore fairground rides and the mechanisms used to make them rotate, turn and twist. Children then design and build their own fairground rides.
