Summer Term
Summer Term 1
In the first half of the Summer Term, children will explore a variety of exciting topics:
Minibeasts – inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Zookeepers and the Zoo – inspired by The Tiger Who Came to Tea
Farmers and the Farm – inspired by Rosie’s Walk
Through these themes, children will discover fascinating facts about the world around them. They'll learn about mothers and their babies, animal life cycles, and interesting information about a wide range of creatures.
We'll also explore the differences between zoos and farms, discuss where our food comes from, how it’s grown, and how it ends up in our shops. All of these learning experiences lead up to an exciting "Farm on Wheels".
Summer Term 2
In the second half of the Summer Term, our topics include:
Vets and Pets – inspired by Mog and the Vet
Police Officers and Road Safety – inspired by Police Officers on Patrol
The Seaside (UK and Abroad) – inspired by Billy’s Bucket
We kick off the term with enjoy spending more time outdoors as the weather warms up. They'll take part in fun seasonal activities like making their own ice creams, building sandcastles, and even a water-gun fight!
This term also includes a focus on People Who Help Us, as children learn about different careers and the vital roles emergency services play in our communities.
